In response to the critical situation caused by the heavy rains that struck the Zona da Mata region of Minas Gerais in early 2026, Alok Institute is taking action on two fronts.
Alok emphasizes that “solidarity is what drives us, and in moments like this, we focus on providing immediate support to families who have lost everything.”
On one front, Alok Institute initially donated 9 tons of essential supplies to directly support families affected by the climate disaster.
The shipment—donated through the NGO Ação da Cidadania—included non-perishable food, drinking water, personal hygiene items, cleaning products, and other basic necessities. In situations like this, Ação da Cidadania works to ensure that food and cleaning supplies are distributed to strategic locations, prioritizing the communities most severely impacted.
“We would like to express our deep gratitude to Alok Institute, a long-standing and valued partner, which was one of the first organizations to contribute,” says Kiko Afonso, Executive Director of Ação da Cidadania.

Heavy-Duty Cleaning
Alok Institute has also partnered with CUFA and WAP to bring high-pressure cleaning equipment to the region in the coming days, helping with the cleaning of streets, homes, and buildings. CUFA volunteers will be trained to properly operate the equipment, and the organization will also receive supplies for donation.
“Our mission in Minas Gerais is to provide the support communities need to rebuild. Through the partnership with Alok Institute and WAP, we are combining essential donations with practical tools for recovery. CUFA is on the ground in the favelas, training people and cleaning homes, proving that collaboration between artists, companies, and local communities is the only way to overcome climate tragedies quickly,” says Marciele Delduque, President of CUFA Minas Gerais.
“There’s no way to remain indifferent in the face of a tragedy like this. Our mission now is to provide support. We are donating 25 high-pressure washers to help families return home more quickly, and we’re going beyond delivery—our team will also train each volunteer to ensure the work is done efficiently and safely,” adds Paulo Sanford, CEO of WAP and WAAW by Alok.
