After the successful action in Complexo do Alemão (RJ) in 2023, the second edition of the Light in Health (Luz na Saúde) project will take place in 2024, in the northern zone of São Paulo (SP). The mission is to provide quality gynecological care to women, treat urinary incontinence, and screen for cervical and breast cancer.
This initiative offers access to specialized healthcare with technology, innovation, joy, and support for those who need it most.
The Light in Health Project aims to identify and treat women with stress urinary incontinence through laser sessions, improving their quality of life while reducing the waiting list of over 400 women seeking this care.
The project aims to attend women on the waiting list of the Brazilian Unified Health System (SUS) in São Paulo. It will provide 4,000 mammograms and diagnostic procedures such as punctures and breast biopsies. Additionally, it will serve 1,500 gynecology patients, conducting approximately 3,660 procedures over six months. These procedures include screening (Cobas collection and telecolposcopy), medical expeditions, and follow-up for second and third laser applications.

“Light in Health was born from a dream to care for those who care, the heads of households. Focusing on urinary incontinence treatment, we will conduct four care campaigns throughout 2024, benefiting hundreds of women” comments Dr. Adriana Mallet, CEO of SAS Brasil.
“Urinary incontinence affects the quality of life of over 50% of women. Using the Fotona Laser is the most technological, comfortable solution that promotes well-being in just a few sessions. It is an honor to be part of this project and offer our laser,” says Federico Blaustein, CEO of Fotona, a laser equipment developer for medicine.
“This is the second edition of ‘Luz na Saúde,’ an important step in promoting the health and well-being of women awaiting treatment. In this edition, we will also open the doors of Clínica Romana to patients eligible for treatment with the Fotona laser. Urinary incontinence can significantly impact women’s quality of life, bringing emotional challenges. As head of Clínica Romana and co-founder of Alok Institute, I am very happy and moved to see this mutual effort to meet the needs of so many women on the SUS waiting list” comments Dr. Romana Novais, founder of Clínica Romana and co-founder of Alok Institute.
“We are very pleased to be united with the purpose of the Luz na Saúde project because we are all together to do what we know best: taking care of people,” says Ricardo Manara.
