The Alok Institute made an aliance (2021) with the Solano Trindade Agency (Campo Limpo – SP) to support projects that link the field and the periphery. The Agency’s work aims to encourage the generation of income for family farming producers and the democratization of access to organic and agro-ecological food, on the outskirts of São Paulo, starting with the South Zone.
The World Health Organization calls “food deserts” regions of the city where people need to walk more than 400 meters to find fresh and unprocessed food. Unlike upscale neighborhoods, where there is a lot of fruit, vegetables and vegetables on the outskirts of large urban centers, places that sell fresh food are rare.
