The “Caring for Those Who Care” project involves providing telepsychology services to women in need for maternal and child care, focusing on postpartum depression and bereavement, as well as addressing the needs of women in the Light in Health project, focusing on urinary incontinence and working towards improving self-esteem.
To achieve this, SAS Brasil has developed its own complete platform, with medical records and video consultations, built in accordance with LGPD regulations.
Through a straightforward communication system directly via WhatsApp with the users, SAS Brasil is able to facilitate access to telepsychology for underserved populations.
Approximately 528 women are expected to be served over a period of 5 months (starting from December 2023), in the cities of Acaraú, Cruz (CE), and Rio de Janeiro (RJ).
About SAS Brasil
SAS is a social startup and health institution that operates in cities or regions lacking access to specialist doctors, providing free medical care and directly impacting the waiting list of Brazil’s Unified Health System (SUS) by conducting specialized consultations. It was established in 2013 by doctor Adriana Mallet and consultant Sabine Zink, who brought together a group of six friends to deliver health services with joy to cities along the route of the Sertões, the largest rally in the Americas. A decade later, their work was recognized and awarded at the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland. This recognition was for the more than 200,000 face-to-face and remote consultations they had provided in over 300 cities across 25 states of Brazil by January 2023.
Beyond mere assistance, SAS Brazil works to directly impact the waiting lists and unmet demands of SUS for consultations, exams, procedures, and specialized surgeries.
